Mimoff is an early beta for creating and rating memes with people in a shared room. By creating or joining a room, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Beta service

The service may change, stop working, lose room data, or be unavailable without notice. Rooms are not permanent storage. Do not rely on Mimoff for important, professional, medical, legal, or safety-related communication.

Your rooms and content

Your display name, captions, uploaded images, votes, and results are visible to people who can access the room. Keep room links private and share them only with the people you intend to invite.

You remain responsible for what you upload or write. Only use images and other material that you created or have permission to use. You allow Mimoff to store, process, resize, and display your content only as needed to operate and secure the game.

Content rules

Do not upload illegal, threatening, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, or malicious content. Do not share another person's private information or images without permission, impersonate others, interfere with the service, or infringe copyright or other rights. We may restrict access or remove content when reasonably necessary to protect people, the service, or legal rights.

Privacy

Mimoff processes room identifiers, display names, captions, uploaded images, votes, game settings, and timestamps to run the game. A random guest token is stored on your device so the same browser can return to its role in a room. The server stores only a cryptographic hash of that token.

For security and abuse prevention, the service uses request-rate records derived from an IP address or player identifier. These records are stored as cryptographic fingerprints rather than the original identifier, and old rate-limit buckets are periodically removed.

To understand how the beta is used and improve it, Mimoff keeps its own anonymous usage records: page visits and how long they lasted, the referring website or campaign link, country, time zone, device, operating system and browser type, screen size, browser language, and game actions with their timestamps, such as joining, changing a template, submitting, and the ratings given. These records are linked to random identifiers, not to your identity, and they never include player names, captions, uploaded images, or IP addresses. When you join a room, a short mark of your internet connection is kept: a one-way code made from your connection with a secret key and the date, so it changes every day and cannot be turned back into an address. It only shows whether players in the same room were on the same connection. A random browser identifier is stored in a cookie shared by mimoff.com and play.mimoff.com so that visits from the same browser can be counted once. Unlike room data, these records are kept after the room is deleted.

While you wait for other players, Mimoff may ask one optional question about where you are playing and what you would add or change. If you answer, your choice and anything you write are kept with the same anonymous records to decide what to build next. Do not include personal information in your answer.

Mimoff also uses Google Analytics for aggregate page-view measurement and, if analytics are enabled, PostHog for limited page-view and game-flow measurement. Custom analytics events do not include player names or meme captions, and session recording is disabled. Cloudflare provides hosting and database infrastructure. These providers may process technical information outside your country.

Room data is deleted after at least 15 minutes without a request to the room. Cleanup runs approximately once a minute, so deletion may take a little longer. Do not upload sensitive information or anything you need us to preserve. You can remove locally stored Mimoff identifiers and cookies through your browser's site-data controls.

Age

Mimoff is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 18, use the service only with permission from a parent or guardian.

Liability and changes

The beta is provided as available, without a promise that it will always work or preserve content. To the extent permitted by law, Mimoff is not responsible for indirect loss or harm caused by user content or another participant's actions. Nothing here limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited. We may update this page as the beta changes.
